SprezzOS inherits much of Debian's networking infrastructure, and it is worthwhile to familiarize oneself with their documentation:

Debian Manual, Chapter 5, "Network setup".
Debian Wiki, "Network Configuration".

There are then some differences:

SprezzOS does not make use of TCPwrappers
SprezzOS uses a local DNS cache by default

Device configuration via /etc/network

Packet filtering via iptables

NAT via iptables
